Direct-To-Film (DTF)

Limitless color, razor-sharp detail, and incredible versatility. The modern solution for complex designs on almost any fabric.

The Future of Decoration

Why Choose DTF?

Direct-to-Film (DTF) is a high-tech process where your design is printed onto a specialized PET film, coated with a unique adhesive powder, and then heat-transferred onto the garment. It bridges the gap between screen printing and digital transfers, offering photographic quality with industrial-grade durability.

Unlimited Color Palette

Unlike screen printing, there are no "per-color" setup fees. We can print full-color gradients, shadows, and photographs with stunning accuracy.

Superior Stretch & Recovery

The ink is incredibly flexible. DTF transfers can be stretched without cracking, making them ideal for performance wear and spandex blends.

Decorate Anything

DTF isn't limited by fabric type. It adheres perfectly to cotton, polyester, nylon, canvas, and even leather.

Strategic Application

When is DTF the Right Move?

We typically recommend Heat Applied DTF for projects that demand high detail or specific placement:

  • Small Runs: Perfect for orders under 24 pieces where screen printing setups are too costly.
  • Complex Logos: If your brand has many colors, fine lines, or gradients that "stitch" or "screen" poorly.
  • Performance Gear: Lightweight transfers that won't weigh down moisture-wicking athletic apparel.
  • Unique Placements: Ideal for neck labels, sleeve prints, and pockets where traditional hooping is difficult.

"DTF allows us to say 'Yes' to the complex designs that other methods have to turn away."

The DTF Technical Process

High-precision digital printing meets industrial heat application.

01

Digital Mastering

We process your **Vector Art** through a specialized RIP software. This creates a high-density white "under-flood" that allows your colors to appear vibrant on any garment color.

02

Film Printing

Our commercial DTF printers apply ink to a PET film. While the ink is still wet, a specialized hot-melt adhesive powder is applied and cured in a high-temp oven to create the transfer.

03

Heat Fusion

The transfer is placed on the garment and pressed at a precise temperature, pressure, and time. The adhesive melts into the fabric fibers, creating a permanent bond.

04

Post-Press Finish

After the film is peeled away, we "finish press" the design. This locks the ink into the weave and gives the design its final soft-touch, retail-quality texture.

Simple, Scalable Pricing

Because DTF does not require individual screens or digitizing, it is one of our most accessible decoration methods. Pricing is calculated based on the total surface area of your design and the number of garments being pressed.

Benefit Timeline Min. Quantity
Full Color (Photographic) 10-15 Days 12 Pieces
Fine Detail & Gradients 10-15 Days No Screen Fees

The "Flash" Turnaround

Because there is no screen drying or heavy machine setup, DTF is often our go-to recommendation for clients who need a fast, high-quality result. If your event is around the corner, DTF is often the most flexible production path.

The Vector Foundation

While DTF is a digital process, the quality of the print is still dictated by the file. Vector Art (.AI, .EPS, .PDF) ensures that your edges stay sharp and your colors remain pure. If we use a low-res image, the transfer will show the "noise" and pixelation of that file.

For photographic DTF, we require a minimum of 300 DPI at the actual print size.
